Industry ministry mulls restrictions on some plastic packaging

MOSCOW, Jun 23 (PRIME) -- The Industry and Trade Ministry is considering restricting the use of some types of non-recyclable polymers in package production and is elaborating recyclable plastic packaging with the industry representatives, a spokesperson told PRIME on Friday.

"The Industry and Trade Ministry is considering and assessing the necessity of possible restrictions on the sales of some types of non-recyclable plastic goods," the official said.

The ministry expects that the new packaging types can be recycled several times and used to produce the same type of packaging from which they were sourced.
